Brianna Macias, LCSW, M.Ed.

I am Brianna Shumate. I have Masters degrees in both Social Work and Human Sexuality Education from Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania. I have experience providing therapy to adolescents, adults, and groups.I specialize in various trauma-informed approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy for individuals with anxiety, depression, and traumatic stress as a result of sexual assault and/or domestic violence. I was specifically trained in the therapeutic care of individuals in the LGBTQIA+ and gender diverse communities.

My therapy approach is client-centered and utilizes evidence-based techniques to best serve the unique needs of the individual. I believe it is crucial for all individuals to be seen and heard in a way that honors their various identities, experiences, and worldview. I aim to collaborate with you to better understand your struggles, build functional coping skills and create a new narrative where you feel empowered to confront problems and build a fulfilling future.
