Hillary E. Hess holds a Master's in Counseling and Clinical Health Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, completing undergraduate study at Philadelphia University (now Thomas Jefferson University) with a Bachelor's in Science for Psychology and Business. She is licensed as a professional mental health counselor in both Delaware and Pennsylvania. Hillary specializes in Cognitive Behavior Therapy and mindfulness approaches for individuals with anxiety, trauma, depression, as well as relational and adjustment concerns.
In addition to traditional counseling methods, Hillary has experience as a yoga and expressive arts teacher for a non-profit organization affiliated with Chester County Youth Center (CCYC) in Pennsylvania. During this time, she worked with "at-risk" youth to encourage positive decision making by identifying positive choices and expression through the arts. Hillary has completed additional coursework and certification in the following areas: Registered Yoga Teacher (2016) and Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator Certification (2019); Mindfulness- Based Stress Reduction (2016); Trauma informed Expressive Arts Certification- Focusing Oriented Art Therapy Institute (2015). Hillary demonstrates warmth, knowledge, skill and creativity in her work. She believes it is a combination of all these skills, along with the strengths that she can identify and facilitate with her clients, that she is able to effect positive change through her work.
